Patriots invited to Fast and Pray for Liberty on August 5, 2007

Patriots Invited to Fast and Pray, August 5th, 2007
by Adam Chavez

A simple, yet powerful one-day step you can take to save the Constitution and promote freedom

On August 5th you can be a part of history in a powerful and easy way. It won’t cost you a dime. In fact, it will save you the cost of two meals.

I believe the Elders of Israel are going to save the Constitution. If you are one of them – and even if you are not, the freedoms of life, liberty, and property are quickly being taken from us. The Bill of Rights is being ignored. The Constitution is called “old-fashioned” and is mostly ignored by our government leaders.

Please join me and hundreds – if not thousands of other LDS Patriots as we fast and pray on August 5th that this will all change (and then take the money you saved by fasting and donate it to your favorite freedom candidate, freedom organization, or Church). Please fast and pray with us that we will be ruled by law, and not by the whims of lawyers and corrupt leaders.

Fast and pray for a miracle.

Fast and pray to be inspired to know what you can do to save the Constitution – and our way of life.

Fast and pray that the Lord will open the people’s eyes to the fact that nearly all their leaders are disobeying the Constitution – even the Latter Day Saints who have been entrusted with seats of power in the House and Senate.

Fast and pray that modern day equivalents of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson will be inspired all over the country to wake up and get active in the freedom fight – that men like Ron Paul will be elected to office all over the country.

Fast and pray that after we have done all in our power we can stand still and see the salvation of God.

Christ taught us about the power of fasting to work miracles
During the Savior’s earthly ministry, a man brought his sick son to the Lord saying, “I have brought unto thee my son, which hath a dumb spirit. And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.”

After the Lord heals the boy, the disciples are troubled. Later on in private, they ask him why they could not perform the miracle that the Lord had performed.

Here he takes the time to teach one of the most powerful opportunities the Lord has given his people. He simply says,“This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:14–29.

Similarly, we have a national government which has been taken by something of a “dumb spirit.” It “teareth” violently against the people as pieces of legislation and executive orders are passed that destroy the Bill of Rights.

It “gnashes with its teeth” against the world in wars that threaten the lives of our young people – wars that are not declared by Congress – wars that have no definable enemy, and thus no definable end.

Maybe the miracle we seek of having good government again will take more than our prayers. I am sure those good disciples prayed to cast out the dumb spirit.

Perhaps it will take more than our actions. After all, the disciples gave the boy a blessing.

Perhaps this is the kind of corruption that can come out by nothing but by prayer and fasting.

Whether you are new to the fight for our Republic or you are a long-time patriot, you are sitting on top of an under-utilized power – the power of the fast.

Please use that power this August 5th . I know that our Heavenly Father will hear our petitions and pour out His blessings and His Spirit on us all as we fast and pray for freedom, the Constitution, and the American way.

About Shaun Knapp

Shaun Knapp to his eternal soul's core, loves human liberty and hates "unrightous dominion" exercised upon men or women, from their neighbors, or by their neighbors via the state. He is no saint, but sinner, but does have a love of the restrictions upon government that the US Constitution and Bill of RIghts put down, though such restraints are not kept in check.
