]]>I agree that too many church members often don’t make connections that exist between politics and the truth. here in utah, not sure were you are, we just had an election in which the citizens of utah voted to shut down a bill that would have given them more agency - instead they left it in the hands of the government to make more choices for us. it is kind of sad.

]]>Indeed, the car featured in “Who Killed The Electric Car” never had any maintenance except new tires once in a while. No air or oil filters, no changing of oil. Very simple and basic in terms of moving parts.
And yes, think of the vast industries that would be effectively gone, leaving us all more time for liesure, the arts and sciences.
Brigham Young taught that we should work hard in the morning, then in the afternoon we would devote ourselves to the study of art, sciences, and in doing so much that would enrich our spirits and talents. This we could do if we were not hunkered down into bondage, and one element of this is the mass consumerism where we are left with inefficiency and products taking much of maintenance.

I believe that God is going to leave it to humans to bring themselves into a garden of eden. Too, he taught that if we desire to walk upon streets of gold, it will be that we put that gold there ourselves. This is the way God works, he blesses us with the delight that comes in production, ownership, advancement through study to create that which will bless us and make us strong.
