Gordon B. Hinckley Warns America; Prays for Her

Gordon B. Hinckley, President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints gave a strong warning to those listening to his words in 1997. He warned that we are "forsaking God in this country" and lamented and said he feared that God is forsaking us.

As noted above in the video, this prophet, seer and revelator (as Mormon's believe him to be) states that as he looks out across the world today "I search in vain" for men like those who walked across the stage of history when this nation was founded. He ends this talk by offering a prayer for all three branches of Government, the Executive, Legislative and Judicial, truly branches that need praying over, as they need to be stopped in their continued progress toward the Police State. Part of that Prayer can be read here.

When a seer stands up and says he “searches in vain” for men like the US Founders, can we even think for a moment that we could accuse him of voting for George W. Bush? Now of course we all know throngs of Latter day Aints who believe that G. W. Bush will fill the next vacancy of the Quorum of Twelve, but not Gordon B. Hinckley. In the 1997 Freedom Festival, President Hinckley stated:

‘‘A news magazine writer asked me the other day during an interview concerning my belief in the Constitution of our Country. I replied that I felt it was inspired, that both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States were brought forth under the inspiration of God to establish and sustain the freedom of the people of this nation. I told him that I looked upon the Founding Fathers as men who believed in God, as men who prayed to God, as men who recognized God and wished to do his will. What a singular and remarkable group they were. As I look across the world today I search in vain for such a group as walked together across the stage of history when this nation was born...

“Just think of a moment of George Washington, of Franklin, of Madison, of the Adamses, of Thomas Jefferson and their associates who signed the Declaration of Independence or participated in the Constitutional Convention. Where in all the world today can even one or two such men be found, let alone the great aggregation who participated in the Birth of America. Can anyone deny that they were raised up unto this very purpose, that working together they brought forth on this continent an independent nation at the risk of their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor? It is my conviction that while we’ve had a few great leaders since then, there has not been before or since so large a group of talented, able, and dedicated men as those whom we call the Founding Fathers of this nation. For as long as they lived the acknowledge the hand of the Almighty in the affairs of this Republic."

After speaking more on the topic of how wicked this nation of America is, of our corruption, this great prophet, seer and revelator, even the Mouthpiece of Jesus Christ on earth spoke in the clear prophetic voice, giving us understanding of where we stand as a nation before the Lord:

“We are forsaking the Almighty and I fear he is forsaking us. We are closing the door against the God whose sons and daughters we are”

More toward the end of his talk, which he concluded with a prayer, he told us how we are to keep our freedom, exactly what the Book of Mormon teaches:

“I am convinced that if we are to continue to have the freedoms which came of the inspiration of the Almighty to our Founding Fathers, we must return to the God who is their true author. We need to worship Him in spirit and in truth. We need to acknowledge His all powerful hand. We need to humble ourselves before Him and seek his guidance in all that concerns matters of State.”

President Hinckley frequently spoke against "Empire" and its “darker side” with it’s “grim and tragic overlay of brutal conquest, of subjugation, of repression, and an astronomical cost in life and treasure.”

In 1997 Gordon B. Hinckley also stated:

“What a dismal station we have reached in this nation where we have borrowed and spent and failed to repay. At the close of 1994, every man, woman, and child in the United States owed as his or her part of the national debt $17,805.64. Think of it. It is a disgrace. It affects all of our monetary policies and all of our commerce. It burdens us with taxes from which there is little or no relief.”

Note that the Bush Administration has increased the national debt mroe than all other US Presidents combined. The US Economy therefore will be wreched to peices as American's have foolishly permitted this abominable spending for empire abroad to rob them of all they have, even the ruination of their once mighy, productive, rich, and free economy.
