Awake and Arise is targeted toward an all American audience, but perhaps might be best understood by the Latter-day Saint or "Mormon" church goer most particularly, given our desire for content to be based heavily from the concepts taught by Ezra Taft Benson, who after many years of experience in government and church affairs became President of the LDS church where he served that position from 1985-1994. We do not desire to seem exclusive to just the LDS audience, as Ezra Taft Benson was not exclusive toward the peoples of the world, particularly in his messages of freedom that he gave across the nation to many large non-LDS audiences—but to groups of patriotic Americans who love their land of liberty and who had interest in listening to the wisdom and counsel of this great man. Benson likewise traveled the world and was honored by dignitaries across the earth at his passing in 1994.

Our Organization derives it's name from a passage of inspired instruction from this beloved and true American Patriot, Ezra Taft Benson. Benson spoke of his fellow church members as largely being asleep, and hence ineffective in the freedom fight. This of course is true. It is our desire here to give instructional education on the principles of correct government. Additionally, we want to encourage readers to grasp the prophetic warnings and statements we have been given which pertain specifically to our time and what we must do to preserve freedom and cease supporting and being deceived into upholding secret combinations which will prove our own destruction.

Ezra Taft Benson is about as powerful a speaker as one could ever hear, in terms of content and the powerful conviction and spirit and passion with which he speaks, bold and strong in hitting real issues. Admonition to Awake and Arise

This site is not endorsed nor has any affiliation with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it is however the Teachings of this Prophet Patriot Ezra Taft Benson which helps us come up with our name Awake and Arise.org. Benson gave counsel that we must "cleanse the inner vessel." The first step he told us in that process was to "awake and arise." If the mormon people need to cleanse the inner vessel, and the first step being to "awake and arise" this insinuates (and accurately so) that they are asleep.

Benson himself lamented this state of sleep to which his fellow church goers or "Saints" had succumbed. He lamented that the Elders of Israel had been reduced to "sleeping giants."

Here are two examples of statements he made on that subject:

"It is the devil's desire that the Lord's priesthood stay asleep while the strings of tyranny gradually and quietly entangle us until, like Gulliver, we awake too late and find that while we could have broken each string separately as it was put upon us, our sleepiness permitted enough strings to bind us to make a rope that enslaves us.

"For years we have heard of the role the elders could play in saving the Constitution from total destruction. But how can the elders be expected to save it if they have not studied it and are not sure if it is being destroyed or what is destroying it?" (Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson p. 619-620. also (An Enemy Hath Done This, p. 313.)

Then speaking more about this sleepiness, Benson states:

"The devil knows that if the elders of Israel should ever wake up, they could step forth and help preserve freedom and extend the gospel. Therefore the devil has concentrated, and to a large extent successfully, in neutralizing much of the priesthood. He has reduced them to sleeping giants. (An Enemy Hath Done This, p. 275., also Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson p. 619.)

The War In Heaven Rages on Earth Today

Awake and Arise was organized in part realizing the battles we face ahead. These battles are that of agency, and are not new, but predate this earth with the great Pre mortal Counsel where Lucifer rebelled and sought to impose his grand plan of force and coercion upon the souls of men. He and a third of the hosts of heaven were cast down the the earth. In the here and now, that battle continues in full force. In the short term, it looks like freedom is getting the ax. Here is a paragraph from President Ezra Taft Benson stating just what we face:

"To all who have discerning eyes, it is apparent that the republican form of government established by our noble forefathers can not long endure once fundamental principles are abandoned. Momentum is gathering for another conflict--a repetition of the crisis of two hundred years ago. This collision of ideas is worldwide. Another monumental moment is soon to be born. This issue is the same that precipitate the great pre mortal conflict--will men be free to determine their own course of action or must they be coerced?" (Ezra Taft Benson, The Constitution A Heavenly Banner p. 27.)

In this same landmark talk given in 1986 honoring the Bicentennial celebration of the ratification of the US Constitution that would follow in that next year, Ezra Taft Benson also stated:

"At this bicentennial celebration we must, with sadness, say that we have not been wise in keeping the trust of our Founding Fathers. For the Past two centuries, those who do not prize freedom have chipped away at every major clause of our Constitution until today we face a crisis of great dimensions.

"We are fast approaching that moment prophesied by Joseph Smith when he said: 'Even this nation will be on the very verge of crumbling to pieces and tumbling to the ground, and when the Constitution is upon the brink of ruin, this people will be the staff upon which the nation shall lean, and they shall bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction." (July 19, 1840, Church Historian's Office, Salt Lake City.) (The Constitution A Heavenly Banner, by Ezra Taft Benson pp. 24-28.)

In the paragraph that follows, President Benson then asked:

"Will we be prepared? Will we be among those who will 'bear the Constitution away from the very verge of destruction?' If we desire to be numbered among those who will, here are some things we must do:...."

Awake and Arise hopes that there will be many who will be prepared, as that "monumental moment" is indeed being born with the rise of a fascist dictatorship in the USA and the gutting of the US Constitution by treasonous legislators, and freedom destroying Executives, not to forget despotic Judges. To finish out Benson's prophetic vision for us in our time and in months and years ahead, he states:

"I have faith that the Constitution will be saved as prophesied by Joseph Smith. But it will not be saved in Washington. It will be saved by the citizens of this nation who love and cherish freedom. It will be saved by enlightened members of this church---men and woman who will subscribe to and abide the principles of the Constitution.

"I reverence the Constitution of the United States as a sacred document. To me its words are akin to the revelations of God, for God has placed his stamp of approval on the Constitution of this land. I testify that the God of heaven sent some of His choicest spirits to lay the foundation of this government, and He has sent other choice spirits---even you who read my words---to preserve it."

"...We, the blessed beneficiaries, likewise face difficult days in this beloved land, 'a land which is choice above all other lands.' (Ether 2:10.)

"It may also cost us blood before we are through. It is my conviction, however, that when the Lord comes, the Stars and Stripes will be floating on the breeze over this people. May it ever be so, and may God give us the faith and the courage exhibited by those patriots who pledged their lives and fortunes that we might be free." (Ezra Taft Benson "The Constitution--A Heavenly Banner.")
